Our Story
In 1976 Jimmy
Higdon became a partner with uncle and founder Billy
Higdon at Lebanon's Key Market. In 1985 the
name changed to Higdon's Foodtown. In 1992
Jimmy and Jane Higdon became sole owners of Foodtown
and thirty years later, Jimmy and Jane Higdon
continue to operate Higdon’s Foodtown in Lebanon,
KY.
Time-line
- 1992 – Jimmy
and Jane Higdon became the sole owners and
operator of this 20,000-square foot grocery
store that employs 45 full and part-time
employees. Since becoming sole owner, Jimmy has
expanded the facility to include a 3000-square
foot appliance store, a full-service bakery, and
a delicatessen with hot food bar.
- 1976 – Jimmy

- 1969 – Jimmy
began bagging groceries and working in grocery
store at the age of 16.
